NI Premier of Sing the animation

Lucky mini cinema revellers enjoyed the NI premier of Sing at Victoria Square’s Odeon.

The mood was sheer excitement as a queue of recognisable local personalities, media stars and their mini mes queued up to catch the premier of Sing.

Rugby star Ian Humphreys, breakfast show DJ Pete Snodden and more turned out to see the Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures animation which focuses on an X-Factor style storyline but based on animals of varied, and hilarious natures.

Sing stars Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey), a dapper Koala who has one final chance to restore his theatre to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition.

Five lead contestants emerge including an overtaxed mother pig (Reese Witherspoon) and a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton). Each animal believes that this is their shot to change their life.

Featuring covers of more than 85 hit songs and an original motion picture soundtrack including Stevie Wonder and Ariana Grande’s Faith, there’s music for everyone to enjoy.

Tickets for Sing are available now via singmovie.co.uk. The film opens in Irish cinemas on 27th January with previews on 21st and 22nd January.
