Bubbacue Relaunch

The local ‘pioneer in slow smoked American style BBQ’, Bubbacue, has reinvented itself as the UK & Ireland’s first fast-casual barbecue restaurant.

John Blisard, founder and creator of the eaterie, says the new concept is a cross between ‘casual dining with table service and fast food’.

The restaurant originally opened in 2012 but today flaunts a new interior which still harks back to its American South roots.

Media were invited to savour the grub which includes slow smoked meat (over 12 hours), vegetarian options and healthier sides including black bean and corn, giant couscous and apricot salad, rice and mashed potato among other things.

Bubbacue’s ingredients are 100 per cent locally sourced and the team is in talks with Belfast Brewers, Boundary with a vision to create its own beer; ‘ Bubbabrew’!
